Welp, long time no see. I've been quite busy lately, but I don't want you to think that you haven't been on my mind. Much has happened since we last spoke. As a songwriter, I've been picking up on some trends to how things usually go. I think more often that I go through large periods of experiencing various things in the world. Then, all at once, I am flooded with ideas for new songs and creativity in general. In December I went to Paris. A lot of those events and the aspects of taking a step out of your own life and touching down on a foreign land have been culminating in my head for months now. I feel as though, lately, that my mind has been swirling around a lot of new ideas. I've written some great new tunes, and am anticipating more to come.
Another period of change is also upon me. I'm about to go through the process of moving which is accompanied by an uncertainty as to what I'm going to do. I'm also nearing the end of finishing up my degrees in International Studies and French only to find that I will need a few more classes. While education is fun, I am really on the verge of loosing my mind. Most of my time is spent in class or studying, and when I'm not at school I am usually at work. This puts a strain on my own music career. I want to play more shows and branch out, but I can never seem to get enough time in the day to do anything to help that. 24 hours is not much these days. All of this leads to problems within relationships among friends, family, loves- mmm kindling for songs, right?
The Trio has found itself a new lineup these days. I believe I can say that Matt and I will always be constants, but it is difficult to get everyone on the same page of dedication and all of that. We are experimenting with adding more instrumentation as well. A friend of mine has sat in on a couple of our rehearsals to play a little guitar. It adds a great dynamic to our sound and most certainly fills out a lot more space. We are also hearing room for some keyboard. Then what will we be when we find someone??? Alec Delphenich Band? Hmm... Maybe something clever like Alec Delphenich and the... Wounded Livers? Alec Delphenich & the Smooth Operation. Operators...
I'm reluctant to create just a band name, because on some level it limits your own maturation. It's easier for someone to follow a songwriter and see how they change over time. People tend to get more pissy when a "band" changes their style. I don't know though. As you can tell I've been thinking a lot about it. Although, I've also been too busy to really do much else other than stress out about it... something I've been doing a lot of lately. I've also found, personally, that when I have a lot of things going on at one time I get overwhelmed, stress a bit, and then lock up. Something else odd- when I'm around someone and they are angry or in a bad mood I have major problems with anxiety. Very odd. Well, as you might be able to tell, I am venting maybe a little too much about my life's craziness. I think I'm going to get back to watching a little tv and petting this incredibly furry cat that is laying at my feet. I hope you have a lovely day/night/afternoon/morning... is day the all encompassing term of choice here? ...Anywho, thanks for stopping in!

Salut! Not a whole lot of new things to say these days. I've been super busy with my studies and work. One thing worth mentioning is a new gig I may have set up. I will soon be playing every Saturday night at a cool Italian restaurant in Kettering called Sopranos. I would highly recommend making your way out sometime. Great food, awesome beer on draft, and a cool atmosphere. It's nice, but not in a pretentious upity sort of way. Just chill. On top of that you get to listen to me jamming out- acoustically. I'm sure sometimes Matt or Patrick will join me for a lovely acoustic set. We will see what happens. Until it becomes locked in every Saturday I will just post the nights I'm playing on the "Shows" page just to be clear.
I'm also thinking about recording a couple more videos for my YouTube page sometime soon. I might do an older song and then a newer one. Give you a little contrast to my songwriting these days. I'll be sure to let you know if and when that happens. Oh, I also took my little web store offline. Not that I was selling anything other than a CD I made three years ago... But if I ever get more merchandise, I will do a better job of selling it anyways. I suppose you will have to come out to my shows to by my albums now. What a drag! I know. Welp, that's about it. I'm gonna wrap things up so I can be mildly well-rested for another day of back-to-back school/work/sleep. Catch yas laters.
